Financial Branding Dubai Hero

Unitas Client Advisory is a regulatory and financial advisory firm based in the Dubai International Financial Centre. When they came to Mike Rock Studio, they had the credentials, the track record, and the client roster — but a brand that didn't reflect any of it. The brief was to build a visual identity that communicated both institutional authority and genuine human partnership, and to carry that identity across their physical DIFC space, their client materials, and every touchpoint in between.

image

The Challenge:

The DIFC has an aesthetic problem. Most firms operating in it look the same conservative palettes, generic sans-serifs, the visual language of compliance rather than confidence. For a firm with Unitas's ambitions, blending in wasn't an option.

The name itself set the standard. Unitas - unity - implied something more than a transactional service relationship. It implied a firm that positions itself alongside its clients, not above them. The brand needed to feel like that: authoritative without being cold, global without losing its grounding in the UAE market.

image

The Approach:

The strategy centred on a single tension worth resolving: institutional trust versus human partnership. Most financial brands choose one. Unitas needed both.

The visual direction drew on clean architecture, considered proportion, and an expansive use of space reflecting the "complete picture" perspective that defines how Unitas works with its clients. A restrained palette of deep, considered tones was paired with refined typography selected to work equally well in English and Arabic, bridging the regional prestige of the UAE market with the standards expected by global financial audiences.

The system was designed from the outset to scale from a business card to a boardroom wall without losing coherence.

The Work:

Identity & Logomark:

A mark built on precision and togetherness reflecting the Unitas name without resorting to literal interpretation. Considered at every scale, from app icon to environmental application.

Environmental & Interior Branding:

The DIFC office transformed from a generic tenanted space into a genuine brand touchpoint. Every surface considered as part of the client experience because for a firm like Unitas, the office is a closing room.

Client Collateral:

High-specification brochures and digital sales materials developed for C-suite audiences where production quality is itself a signal of the firm's standards.

image

Brand Experience:

A curated set of physical brand items that translate the firm's warmth and attention to detail into something a client takes away and keeps. Not promotional merchandise considered objects.

The Outcome

The rebrand gave Unitas a visual identity that matches the quality of their work — and a clear point of distinction in a market where most competitors look indistinguishable. The identity system is built to grow with the firm, remaining coherent as Unitas expands its presence across global financial markets and deepens its position as a go-to advisor for international names entering the Middle East.

Project FAQ

Why does branding matter for financial consultancies in Dubai?

In the DIFC, technical expertise is assumed. Every firm operating at that level has the credentials. What differentiates the best from the rest is how they present, the visual confidence of their materials, the coherence of their identity, the quality of the experience they create in a client meeting. Branding is how a financial firm signals, before anyone reads a word, that they operate at the highest level.

How do you balance global and local signals in a financial brand?

The UAE financial market is genuinely dual-audience: international capital coming in, regional expertise navigating it. A brand that leans too global risks feeling disconnected from the local market; too regional and it loses credibility with international clients. The balance is found in the details, typography that works in both English and Arabic, production finishes that meet international standards, and a tone that is formal without being cold. For Unitas, the identity was built to be at home in a London boardroom and a DIFC office in the same breath.

What is the value of interior branding for a financial advisory firm?

For a firm like Unitas, the office is not just a place to work it's where the most important conversations happen. When a client walks into a space that has been considered at every level from the materials on the walls to the objects on the desk it changes the dynamic of the meeting before anyone has spoken. Interior branding turns a physical space into a closing tool, communicating trust, permanence, and attention to detail in a way that a brochure or website cannot replicate.
